Elizabeth Gioja wins Thomas Cole Award

Elizabeth Gioja of Greenville has been honored with a Thomas Cole award in photography.
Gioja was recognized recently by Cedar Grove: The Thomas Cole National Historic Site for outstanding achievements in the arts from an exhibit at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Catskill.
Cole, who is known around the world as the father of the Hudson River School and American landscape painting, attended St. Luke's during the 19th century.

Gioja, whose works focus on outdoor and nature scenes, is a member of the Greene and Columbia County Councils on the Arts, and a Greenville Rotarian.

Her photographs are currently on exhibit at the Mountain View Brasserie, Quarry Steak House, Kaaterskill Care Nursing Home, Greene County Council on the Arts Gallery and Frisbee Gallery in Catskill; as well as locations in Woodstock, Rochester and California. They have also been featured in the Catskill Mountain Region Guide.
